The art of Emily Johnson
I’m thrilled to announce that we will now be offering the beautiful artwork of Emily Johnson in the shop and online!
I met Emily a couple of years ago at the shop and then again at an artists’ dinner at The Blue Gallery in Kansas City. I was immediately drawn to Emily’s work … her compositions feel like emotions that you can walk right into. It comes as no surprise that her connection with nature is where much of her art begins:
Dreams and meditations within the landscape of nature is what inspires Emily Johnson’s paintings. Her rural Missouri upbringing informs the context while her fine art studies at the Kansas City Art Institute and background in graphic design inspire her technique. However, it is ultimately her intuition and innate sense of connection with the world around her, real and imagined, that bring to life her beautiful explorations of form and color on canvas and paper.
