R13
The street wise label made a name for themselves with the artfully destroyed Italian-made denim. Lesser known is the man responsible for them. Chris Leba, creative director for Ralph Lauren for 19 years left the company in 2009 to launch his own label: enter R13. Leba remained behind the scenes until 2017 New York Fashion Week, where he took a bow and came out as the mastermind behind the rock n' roll inspired brand. Leba came to the U.S. as a refugee from Vietnam, and R13's punk undertones stem from a childhood steeped in '80s and ’90s American culture. The brand's grunge roots paired with traditional silhouettes bring balance to the collections and make them wearable for anyone who desires a bit of an edge.
