Bartleby Objects
Mary L. Chan, who studied English Literature & Queer Theory in Scotland and Interior Design at Parsons in NYC, employs a traditional, hand-made method to producing modern leather objects that are conceived to work in relationship with the body. She works on an intimate scale in her multi-disciplinary Brooklyn Navy Yard design studio, making a beautiful and varied range of objects useful for the home as well as the individual.
"We are primarily concerned with offering a set of solutions to make daily life a little sweeter, a little easier. We consider our goods to be gender-neutral, with a strong advocacy for femininity."
