Earth Day 2024 ... and an epic road trip
Quite recently, my daughter and I decided to take a long, proper road trip…our only agenda being a two-night reservation at a glamping resort outside Zion National Park, giving us time to intuitively explore and see where the days would take us. It ended up being the trip of a lifetime and one we plan to take again and again, exploring new roads and towns each time.
Mother nature, as it turns out, is quite the medicine.
As Thoreau writes in Walden:
“We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.”
Similarly, the Finefolk ethos has always held nature in high regard: the designers I choose to partner with all have this in common. They are, by default, incredibly and intelligently sustainable in their practices and pursuits. You can be confident that what you wear, if purchased from us, has been thoughtfully designed, produced and delivered. And there is a tremendous amount of love and care that goes into each and every piece of each and every collection. Artisanal at it’s best.
We, as a shop, continue to learn and grow … to be better stewards of the beautiful things that pass from our hands to yours. And we hope you continue this sentiment, whether by letting us tailor our pieces for you, passing on loved pieces to others or by buying less but buying better. What we sell at Finefolk is meant to last a lifetime, in construction and style. Join us as we continue to celebrate fashion and design in a most thoughtful way.
"Let us protect our planet, let us live in harmony with her many gifts and let us move intuitively with her rhythm, as one follows the lead of a most magnificent dancer." -author unknown
